Hello

Due to an unfavorable situation with a green space, we only have a 4m (13 feet) wide driveway to the garage on the east side of the house. The rest of the house would fit perfectly with this arrangement. If we place the house on the west side, we would have enough driveway width, but unfortunately the house would have to be redesigned.

Now we are considering what to do.

Is a 4m (13 feet) wide driveway enough for access to the garage?

Thank you for your opinions.

If the street is designed very narrowly or has a narrow driving lane due to parked cars, even 5 meters (16 feet) can feel tight. My neighbors and I once had a no-parking zone in front of a driveway across the street, so the residents there could get out of their driveway.

Renovation of Single-Family House in Cologne:
Width of driveway on the property: 3.00m (10 feet). At a right angle to the street, with a boundary (gateway).
Street width (residential street): 7.00m (23 feet), with parallel parking bays, including opposite the driveway.
Owner’s car: Defender panel van.
Issues: none.
Also no problems for company vehicles during the construction phase.
