Hello everyone,

We have a small garden shed (concrete structure) with a roof. The roof (gable roof) is basically just a simple wooden frame with roof tiles on top. The problem is that apparently mice or dormice are getting through the gaps and cracks and making a mess all over the space.

Now I would like to somehow insulate the roof in an affordable way. I have considered just spraying everything with expanding foam or something similar (I expect to get some criticism for that), but I don’t think that would be the best solution—also considering that I don’t want the animals to later nest between the roof tiles and the “insulation layer.”

Can you help me figure out the best solution here? It doesn’t have to look nice—just practical. For example, attaching wooden boards, really filling all the gaps with expanding foam, etc.

Thanks in advance
