Hello!
Has anyone here ever tried retrofitting an inner drawer pull-out mechanism? You often see them in kitchen showrooms. When you open the outer drawer, the inner one is pulled out as well. I found it quite practical, but it is not available as a standard feature at Ikea.
Best regards,
Daniel

I repurposed a child safety lock designed for cabinet doors. These components are attached using adhesive only. The "carry-along function" can also be disabled. The inner drawer is released either by the corresponding magnet (which is logically kept inside the drawer) or manually by the latch itself.
It may not be the perfect solution, but it is definitely a cost-effective option—completely drill-free.
A set of four child safety locks costs about 12.-, and the magnets are also available separately.
