ᐅ In your opinion, do urban villas actually look like traditional villas?

Currently, houses marketed as "urban villas" are heavily promoted and seemingly sold quite frequently. Do you think it is appropriate to call these houses "villas"? In my opinion, they are simply two-story houses, as opposed to bungalows or one-and-a-half-story homes. When I look at these houses, I don’t think of villas at all. My husband and I are planning to buy a two-story house, but I would feel uncomfortable calling it a villa.

By the way, are the pictures from your house (one of those, what was it again, Muthesius-?-student's)?Unfortunately not. My house – the architect was Kurt Frick – is still standing there, neglected and unrenovated. Thanks to a lengthy dispute over a 100-year repurchase right.
But it’s also "just" an end townhouse.
I get to live in my wife’s replacement villa, although despite having more than 200m2 (over 2,150 sq ft), we never really called it a villa. It’s not so much the house size that’s missing, but rather the park-like 5,000m2 (about 1.2 acres) property with a winding driveway and a duck pond.

I’m already considered a rather difficult client just for wanting to take the above into account; I don’t think I’ll find anyone willing to build with me. When will you show what exactly you want to build and on which plot of land?

For that, it’s less about the house size and more about a park-like 5000m² (54,000 sq ft) lot with a winding driveway and a duck pond. Exactly, a real villa also needs a Phantom VI along with a chauffeur and additional staff.

And the townhouses are selling like hotcakes, while no one wants an old-fashioned terraced house anymore I think "old-fashioned" is perfectly fine (many would probably say the same about shutters, even though I appreciate them), but you really have to like terraced houses. To me, terraced houses are horizontally built condominiums.P

... As soon as we have decided on a house, I will gladly share pictures here. I have already described the house earlier. At the moment, there is a battle between the laws of physics and our financial possibilities. In my view, it is still uncertain whether physics will have to yield to our financial means or vice versa.
The plot is located in the Neuseenland region. Although I was born in the West and have never lived in the eastern area, there is little else in my life I have looked forward to as much as moving there.

Usually, it involves square floor plans that lure with attractive price per square meter but waste space inside, where the external symmetry restricts the interior layout and are designed for small plots of land in a contemporary way.
It has little to do with a villa that is not built with cost optimization in mind, but rather serves as a status symbol for its inhabitants.
