Hello,

I purchased and assembled the Bekant desk without the corner and without electric height adjustment. I have fully turned in all the black leveling discs on the floor and placed the desk on my laminate flooring. Now I have noticed that the desk is somewhat wobbly.

1. When I stand in front of it and move my hands on the tabletop back and forth, it feels relatively stable, but if I do the same left to right, it wobbles a lot.

2. When I rest my hands on the front part of the work surface, it seems like the tabletop gives way slightly.

Is this normal? Does it change when there is a bit more weight on the desk? How do I correctly adjust these black knobs? How do I know which knob to turn?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Hansuswurstus,

have you checked with a spirit level whether the table is actually level? Based on your description, I have my doubts. Using a spirit level will also help you determine which adjustment knob to turn. That should improve the situation, and maybe the feeling that the tabletop is giving way will also be reduced...

Thank you for your answer. How should I position the spirit level to find out which adjustment wheel I need to turn? Should I simply place it in the middle and then turn the two wheels at the base on the side where the bubble moves? I’m unfortunately not very skilled with DIY.

Hi,

Simply put, a four-legged table wobbles if one leg is too short. This leg (or the one diagonally opposite) needs to be extended (by turning the adjustable foot).

Once the table is stable and no longer wobbles, you can level it horizontally by adjusting the feet in pairs (adjusting two adjacent feet at a time).
