Hello,

I am currently assembling our Metod kitchen, and we have chosen the Hällviken sink. What I miss is a knob or lever to open the drain without having to touch the water. I couldn’t find any information about this. How does the drain work with this sink?

Best regards!

If drilling, use a glass drill bit and then grind it out.

I will try that, thanks.

According to the instructions (and that's how I did it), you use a screwdriver and a hammer, place it in the center, and hit firmly. The opening has predefined breaking points. Nothing went wrong.

Unfortunately, I don't have the instructions, and I can't see any predefined breaking points on this side. I will try using a glass/tile drill bit.

You can download the manual here:

Ikea.com/de/de/assembly_instructions/hallviken-einbauspule-becken-abtropf__AA-2054219-2_pub.pdf

See page 26.
I just checked my sink, and there is a circular cutout on the underside on both sides.

I should have thought of checking the manual myself. I really didn’t see any cutout; I looked quite carefully because I expected there to be one. It would definitely make things much easier. I’ll have to check again this evening. Thanks for the help!
