Hello,

I am currently assembling our Metod kitchen, and we have chosen the Hällviken sink. What I miss is a knob or lever to open the drain without having to touch the water. I couldn’t find any information about this. How does the drain work with this sink?

Best regards!

Hello,
this strainer insert in the drain has a plug at the bottom. So you need to reach into the water.

Best regards,

Andreas

Oh no... is it possible to remodel or retrofit this?

I’m digging up the old thread again.

We were given this sink as a gift, but the hole for the faucet needs to be on the opposite side. That means the hole where the previous owner had their faucet will be sealed, and we have to create a hole on the opposite side where our faucet will be installed. Normally, this would be done using a hole punch or hole saw. Since the basin is made of stone composite material, I’m concerned that the entire sink will be damaged if I try to punch the hole. Are my concerns justified? If so, how should I make the hole there?

Then drill with a glass drill bit and then grind it out.

According to the instructions (and this is how I did it), you take a screwdriver and a hammer, place it in the center, and strike firmly. The opening has predetermined breaking points. Nothing went wrong.
