Hello everyone, I am currently planning a DIY project using the Ikea Besta system, but I want to create different drawer sizes within a single frame. My main question is: How can a combination of various drawer widths and heights be implemented effectively and stably within the standard modules? I intend to arrange about two smaller drawers and one larger drawer stacked vertically to accommodate different storage needs. At the same time, I am interested in how to handle the assembly or partitions in such a setup so that everything holds well and remains functional without compromising the overall stability. Does anyone have practical experience or tips regarding the appropriate fittings, compartment layouts, and possible modifications to the Besta frame? Thank you in advance!

The front panels should ideally be chosen to support the stability of the structure through additional bearing surfaces.

Exactly, that’s what I experienced, too! The front design is not only important visually but also contributes to stability, especially when different heights are used within the system. I even installed side reinforcements myself, although these are not strictly necessary if you work carefully and use good fittings.
