Good morning everyone, I ordered a Pax corner wardrobe from IKEA for my apartment and am currently facing the challenge of assembling it correctly. Specifically, I am interested in how the assembly of these corner wardrobe modules works, especially regarding the combination of the corner elements with the outer cabinet parts and the correct alignment of the hinges and drawers. Does anyone have experience with the assembly system of these particular models? How do you connect the fabric or wood panels, and are there any tips to ensure the wardrobe stands firmly? I would also like to know if there are any special considerations when assembling the corner joint that must be observed to avoid gaps later or to ensure the doors close properly. I would be very grateful for any detailed advice!
I understand that assembling the unit can seem intimidating at first. Especially with corner cabinets, you want everything to be perfect to avoid frustration later on.
It took me quite a while to properly adjust the hinges and ensure the paneling fit without gaps. The key is: take your time, take breaks, and constantly check the alignment and spacing. This can sometimes be a bit stressful, but it’s worth it. If it helps, I recommend reading the instructions out loud step by step and ideally working with a partner.
I fully agree with your question about connecting the corner element – this is the critical point where many people misjudge. If you notice the connection is loose, it’s better to loosen it again and realign it.

It is frustrating when gaps appear later because the corner joint was not executed cleanly. Another tip from me: Check whether the floor is really level. Especially with older floors, an uneven surface can cause the corner cabinet to become misaligned, which then complicates all subsequent assembly steps.
Once the cabinet is standing, you can use small shims or felt pads to compensate for unevenness before installing the doors. This will also help with the alignment of the fronts.
I wish you good luck with the assembly!
