Hello everyone, I am planning to use the IKEA Besta system for office storage as well as a workspace in my home office. My specific question is: How can I best organize the Besta to provide enough storage for files, office supplies, and equipment while also integrating a comfortable, ergonomic workspace with a work surface? I am especially interested in practical tips on how to combine the elements, which doors or drawers work best, and whether certain add-on or organization systems from IKEA are recommended for this purpose. Additionally, I would like to know how to improve stability and ergonomics if mounting a worktop on the Besta system. Thank you in advance for your opinions and experiences!
I really like the Besta too – a tip from me: for a bit more style and practical storage, I use open shelves combined with closed drawers. This way, you can keep your most important work tools within easy reach while maintaining a neat look. For the desk surface itself, you can perfectly place a worktop on top; mine is made of plywood. It paints well and looks really sleek. And yes, a little cable management can work wonders, otherwise you quickly end up with a cable mess behind the cabinet. Good luck and have fun designing your home office!
