Hello everyone, I have glossy IKEA Metod kitchen fronts with a high-gloss lacquer finish. Now I’m wondering: how can I clean these high-gloss fronts with as few streaks and smudges as possible? I have already tried several cleaning products, but often shadows or streaks remain, which of course detracts from the attractive appearance. I am looking for an effective and at the same time gentle cleaning method that does not damage the lacquer and requires minimal effort. Which cleaning methods or products would you recommend to achieve the best results when caring for these glossy fronts?
I think the whole discussion about cleaning agents and cloths is a bit exaggerated. The real key is the wiping technique, not the materials.
Exactly! If you press too hard or wipe in only one direction, you spread dirt and tiny particles, which creates streaks. It’s better to clean small areas multiple times with light pressure. Also, good ventilation helps the surface dry faster and prevents streaks.
Whether you use glass cleaner, mild dish soap, or plain water, the physical laws don’t change. That’s why I’m rather skeptical that there’s a single miracle solution. But don’t let yourself be confused—the surfaces are not that sensitive.

The important thing is to be gentle – pressure can quickly cause streaks.
