Hello everyone,

I am planning to integrate IKEA Metod cabinets with sliding doors into my multifunctional room to allow flexible use of the space. Since the room will serve both as a home office and a guest area, it is important for me to build and arrange the cabinets in a way that maximizes storage while ensuring the sliding doors operate smoothly without losing too much space due to door movement.

My questions are:
- Are there any specific installation tips for fitting Metod cabinets with sliding doors, especially regarding stability and alignment?
- What should be considered when using these cabinets in a multifunctional room to maintain maximum flexibility?
- Are there any accessories or modifications you would recommend to make the sliding doors easier to operate or more durable?

I look forward to hearing about your experiences, detailed assembly instructions, or practical advice! Thanks in advance.

Hello lisfo,

I find your project really exciting! Multifunctional rooms are the future, and with the IKEA Metod system, you have a great solution that adapts well. 😊

From my own experience: Installing the sliding doors can be a bit tricky at first, but if you carefully mount the tracks and then properly align the doors, everything will work out really well!

Don’t get discouraged if it’s difficult at the beginning – I also had to adjust things twice before everything ran smoothly. But it was worth it!

Good luck with your build, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes exactly as you envision! 👍
