Hello everyone, I am currently planning the installation of an IKEA METOD kitchen unit and want to create especially flexible storage space. My question is, how can I build IKEA METOD kitchen units to make the best use of storage and allow for flexible expansion or adjustment? I am thinking about the right selection and installation of cabinets, drawers, and interior organizers, as well as planning tips to easily accommodate different needs in the future. Do any of you have experience with custom solutions within this system that have proven particularly effective? It is important to me to enable both space-saving setups and easy modifications later on.

For planning the interior design, I recommend cataloging your actual belongings first and tailoring the storage space accordingly. Draw a plan indicating where each item should go and how often they are used. Ergonomic aspects are also important: frequently used items should be stored in higher or more easily accessible drawers. If possible, combine different types of storage (drawers, baskets, shelves) for optimal utilization.

I would suggest measuring all kitchen utensils first, then ordering drawers in the appropriate height and width. This way, you avoid mistakes.

Another tip from me: Ask friends or family members about their experiences with construction and storage use. Sometimes you get great tips that you would never have considered yourself. And in practice, it often turns out that even the best theory needs to be adjusted.
