Hello.
We have received, according to our architect, a rather expensive offer from a structural engineer he frequently commissions. The architect also thinks that, due to high demand in this trade, I probably wouldn’t find a significantly better offer nearby.
Now, I would like to gather a few more quotes myself, and they don’t necessarily have to be from the immediate area. Of course, I wonder how to tell if a structural engineer is good or if they might put in little effort. Otherwise, I would only be able to decide based on price, which isn’t always the best choice in the end...
Are there any indicators to look out for?
Thanks in advance.

Because the architect would also be too expensive in that case?Because their collaboration doesn’t bode well.

I only remember our net prices: structural engineer 7,500 euros and checking engineer around 3,000 euros. It's roughly the same for us.
