Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an Ikea Pax wardrobe system and am considering decorating the doors with self-adhesive vinyl films. My goal is to apply either a solid color or a decorative pattern to soften the simple design and give the room a more personal touch.

However, I have some concerns regarding the practical application:
- How well do the films adhere to the smooth doors?
- Should any special preparation be done beforehand to avoid air bubbles or wrinkles?
- Are some materials better suited than others?
- And what about durability in everyday use – especially regarding cleaning and wear?

I’m particularly interested in how you approach applying the films and any tips you have to achieve a clean, long-lasting result. I would be grateful for personal experiences, do’s and don’ts. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to mention that when it comes to self-adhesive films on Pax doors, it’s okay to have a little fun with it. You can create really cool accents, for example with patterns or even like wallpaper!

A small tip: Just get started and don’t try to stick on too much at once.

That’s really important—stay relaxed and work step by step. And if there’s a bubble in there, no big deal, we’re not professionals, right?

Also: After applying it, feel free to tidy up and celebrate a little, because your room will instantly feel much fresher!

Have fun crafting!
