Hello everyone,

I am planning my move in the next few weeks and have been thinking about the best way to safely and neatly pack and transport my Ikea Pax wardrobe. Since this wardrobe consists of several large panels and shelving parts, I would like to know if anyone has tips on how to disassemble, pack, and transport it with minimal damage.

In particular, I’m looking for advice on packaging the doors, the large side panels, and shelves, as these seem quite delicate. It would also be helpful to know if you recommend any additional protective materials and how you handle the transport itself to prevent damage.

I look forward to your experiences and ideas!

Thank you for your helpful tips!

Pilous’s advice that breaking down the Pax too much can affect its stability made me think. I will try to keep the modules relatively large. Using old bed sheets as protective material also sounds very practical and sustainable—thanks, vin_leo!

I would also like to know how you stored the doors after removing them. I don’t want to wrap them too loosely, but I also want to protect them. Did you store them standing upright or laid flat during transport?

Looking forward to more suggestions.
