Hello everyone,
I am planning to install custom interior lighting in my IKEA Pax wardrobe. I am particularly interested in different options to achieve even, functional, and pleasant lighting. I have already considered LED strips and small spotlights, but I am unsure how to practically manage the wiring without damaging the wardrobe or affecting its appearance.
Additionally, I would like to know if motion sensors can be integrated well and what type of power supply is recommended (e.g., mains power via socket or battery solutions). If anyone has experience with specific technology or clever DIY solutions, I would greatly appreciate detailed tips and recommendations.
How can I illuminate the interior of the Pax wardrobe individually so that it looks aesthetically pleasing and is practical for everyday use?
Thank you in advance!

How is the lighting for the different interior sections in your Pax? Is a single central LED strip and one sensor enough for you, or do you want to light individual compartments separately?Good question! I actually have compartments with clothes and shelves, so zone lighting would be ideal – for example, more light at the bottom where the pants are stored, and separate lighting at the top for shirts and jackets. That would probably require multiple sensors or at least several circuits, right?
I’m also curious if there are LEDs slim enough to be installed along the drawer edges without being intrusive. I want to keep the wiring as discreet as possible to maintain an elegant overall look.
I’m looking forward to any recommendations from experience regarding specific products or installation tips.
