Hello, today I had my new Lidingo kitchen installed in ivory white and now have a Högvärdig induction cooktop. Previously, I had a ceramic glass cooktop. My question is: can I use my old pots and pans, which I used with the ceramic glass cooktop, on the new Högvärdig induction cooktop as well, or do I need to buy completely new pots and frying pans? That would be expensive since my current "old" pots are still in very good condition.

Stainless steel pans and pots work, aluminum ones do not. The cookware must be magnetic because the induction cooktop generates a magnetic field.
Just take a magnet; where it sticks is fine, you can discard all the other pots.

Hello!

It mainly depends on the bottom of the pots and pans.

For example, a great, expensive stainless steel pan (top) from the years before induction cooktops became common may have a bottom (bottom) that is not suitable for induction. The tip with the magnet is absolutely correct. If the bottom is magnetic, it will work on an induction hob.

You can also simply place the pot on the hob – if it gets hot, then it’s okay; if it stays cold, you can dispose of it, give it away, or practice your pot-throwing skills.

By the way, once you have experienced the benefits of induction cooking, you won’t mind having discarded your old pots. There’s no going back!

Thanks Nordkäppchen and Fotokatze. The old pots did not pass the magnet test. Now I have to order new pots. Tonight I’ll cook something with the frying pans, they passed the test well!
