Hello everyone,
since the gardening season is about to start again, I would like to know from you how to grow tomatoes myself. I love those small cherry tomatoes, but the ones from the supermarket often have little flavor. How can I grow them myself, is it difficult?

Really bad tomato year this year.
Last year was much, much better.
We have now preserved 33 liters (8.7 gallons) of tomato sauce and can harvest and eat tomatoes daily, but still, last year was clearly better. This year, with about 50 plants, it feels like we have as many tomatoes as last year with 29 plants.
Still, here are two harvest photos 😉

At the beginning of last year, we bought a Berberis Trio from Plastia. Even though it might seem like you’re “gold-plating” the tomatoes, having a water reservoir for the tomatoes is brilliant because the plants can take exactly the amount of water they need, resulting in significantly higher yields compared to no reservoir. Our three cocktail tomato plants provide enough tomatoes for daily consumption and a small tomato salad each day.
Our two salad cucumber plants also produced quite well, but we could have used one more plant. Maybe next year they will also be planted in a Berberis planter.

We really had (and still have) very nice cocktail tomatoes – they look at least as good as the ones you can buy in the supermarket ;-)
I can’t understand why it was considered a bad year for zucchinis. At least for us, we had huge, large, and small zucchinis – we had them all. :-)

We have now canned 33 liters (9 gallons) of tomato sauce and can harvest and eat daily, but still, last year was clearly better. This year, with about 50 plants, I feel like I got as many tomatoes as last year with 29 plants.
Still, here are two harvest photos 😉 Very nice and should be very tasty!
