Hello everyone!

We are having anthracite concrete pavers, 60x40x8 cm (24x16x3 inches), installed on our covered terrace.

I’m currently thinking about the best material to use for jointing. I’ve heard about using “hard” joint filler to prevent ants and other insects from nesting there.

What would you recommend?

I look forward to your advice!

That’s why we will dry sweep it first and then wet it.

As soon as you add water, it disappears again into the joint; you will have to sweep and water it anyway.

Haha! Yes, that’s exactly how it is. You mix it up and brush it into the damp bricks. It even says so on the packaging. And for good reason. Do it on a warm evening, so it dries quickly, and the next day the warmth helps to get rid of the smell. After two days, everything should be fine.

So, my bag definitely lists two possible methods of use. Either mix 20 kg (44 lbs) of material with 8 liters (2.1 gallons) of water and apply, or apply dry and slightly moisten.

There are also product videos available. In my opinion, wet sweeping works better. Lightly spraying it is practically something like that. It probably isn’t very precise. If necessary, try testing 1m² (10.8 sq ft) at a time.
