In our bathroom, we have stone slabs that I really like because granite is such a primitive material. I did not expect that dark spots would appear and remain so easily.
I assume the stain is caused by oil or grease (from cosmetic products).
Does anyone know a product to remove this kind of stain?
(Like leaving a cloth with acetone on it for a few hours... or something similar?)
If there is no remedy for this (which I assume), that’s fine too.
After photographing it, I noticed the stain looks like a dolphin jumping out of the water.
That’s kind of nice 😉

Unfortunately, I have a similar issue with lawn edging made of granite. No oil, but dirt from the topsoil has penetrated.
As soon as I manage to clean it, I can give you some feedback.
Sealing natural stone is really essential; unfortunately, I wasn’t attentive enough outdoors.
I sealed my rubble stone and the window sills right away.

One of my "tricks" is to consider dirtiness as "charming" (at least as much as possible 😎 ).

Antiques have their charm because of such marks...That might work in older buildings with a certain worn look or 'vintage effect'.I keep coming back to this topic. When does the "age of objects" become relevant?
Until when is "looking like new" desirable... and at what point is it acceptable for something to show its age?
For myself, I find that having a more positive and relaxed attitude toward attractive items allows for a more easygoing life...
