In our bathroom, we have stone slabs that I really like because granite is such a primitive material. I did not expect that dark spots would appear and remain so easily.
I assume the stain is caused by oil or grease (from cosmetic products).
Does anyone know a product to remove this kind of stain?
(Like leaving a cloth with acetone on it for a few hours... or something similar?)
If there is no remedy for this (which I assume), that’s fine too.
After photographing it, I noticed the stain looks like a dolphin jumping out of the water.
That’s kind of nice 😉

Placing acrylic boxes on the window sills It’s not that I don’t have any plastic at all (and I’m actually glad to use it where it’s “needed”), but I have been trying for many years to avoid plastics. In this case, I guess I would need to find a stainless steel tray... 😉
... until I find one, I’m hoping the existing dolphin stains will “evaporate” 🤨

In your thread https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/duschwand-nicht-aus-glas-duenn-und-stabil.42262/page-6#post-589212, you said in response to my comment that unsealed granite is very sensitive, that in your experience nothing happens.

"In another bathroom in the same house, there have been two granite slabs on the right and left next to the shower for years, rarely maintained, and they still look perfect.
My experiences don’t have to convince anyone, but I like to encourage discussion."
And now you’re surprised about the stains, even though I warned you? Normally, these stains do NOT come out again. At best, they become somewhat lighter. You should have maintained the granite 😉
........ Actually, I wanted the stone because I assumed you would only need to wipe it if something was "on" it... and that would be fine.
Far from it 😱
"Now you’re surprised about stains, even though I warned you?"
First of all, I’m still learning myself... and secondly, I don’t shower with oil 😉
So far, water hasn’t caused any stains there... 😎
