Hello everyone,

For our house (no basement, concrete slab foundation), we are about to build the terrace.
It will have a gravel base, then crushed stone, and finally the surface layer.

Now I’m wondering:
Should I plaster the area of the base wall that will be covered by gravel and crushed stone beforehand?
There is a bituminous coating and insulation already applied. Should I also apply base plaster now?
And then a dimpled membrane?
Or is it enough to just put gravel there and leave it at that?

Attached is a quick "example photo."

Thanks and best regards

Sorry for the late reply:

The discs are called pedestal supports.
They are a nice solution, but you need a sufficiently level, concrete base for them (at least I don’t know of any other way). We don’t have that, so we used the “classic” approach.

I think it also depends on the surface covering. But most terraces are laid on gravel. Some are concreted and tiled. Or for wood or WPC decking, pedestal supports are often used.
