Hello!

For our upcoming construction project in Brandenburg, we would like to install a geothermal heat pump with a ground probe or possibly a groundwater heat pump, similar to the one we have in our current house.

Unfortunately, I have not yet found any basic information from the state of Brandenburg online about areas where such installations are generally prohibited.

Since we do not yet know the exact location of our build, I am also unable to contact the local municipality.

Does anyone have a link?

Thanks,
Gabriela

Groundwater heat pumps are often a bigger issue in water protection zones than brine-water heat pumps. And water protection zones are more common here than one might think. However, our area is also much more densely populated.

Have you checked your state’s geoportal to see if any of this is relevant?

The geothermal portal from Brandenburg provides information. However, be cautious with extraction values based on existing boreholes in the "vicinity," as conditions at your specific property may differ significantly.

Thanks for the tip.

I have already failed several times with the geothermal portal :-)

But I will take another look at it once it is clear exactly where we are going to build.
