Hello everyone,

I want to install a fence made of double wire mesh panels on top of a garden wall. Now I’m wondering if the panel thickness of 6/5/6 at a height of 120cm (47 inches) is sufficient or if it will be too flexible and I should rather use 8/6/8? If it makes a difference, the posts will be anchored with dowels and not concreted in, and no privacy slats will be installed!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

I assumed he meant the screws used to attach the base to the foundation, as shown in the picture (from the internet, not mine). RAL 7016 is anthracite. I’m not allowed to share links, but if you search for spray paint on Camas’s website, you will find the product I was referring to. If you’re reasonably skilled, you can paint with it so well that the difference becomes unnoticeable.

Metal base plate secured fence post to concrete with anchor bolts.

There are differences here as well. I chose the slightly more expensive but also much firmer option (based on my neighbor’s advice). His has been flawless for years. Mine has had no defects since it was installed in spring.

If you have studs with nuts like in the picture, there are cap nuts available for that.

Thanks for your answers!
In my case, it looks like in the image linked above, with the bolts sticking out slightly less from the nuts. Even with caps, I don't think it looks very good, so I would prefer a cover for the entire base. Unfortunately, I can only find ones made of plastic...
