ᐅ Garage door price reasonable? Install it yourself?

Hello, we need 2 garage doors, each measuring 3005 x 2415 mm (118 x 95 inches).
We requested a quote for Novoferm, around €7000 including installation. That’s not an option...
Now we are considering installing them ourselves.
Globus hardware store would charge about €1900 per door for Hörmann doors.
On Monday, there is a 20% discount on everything. That would bring the price to about €3040.
Would that price be reasonable?
How difficult is the installation?

Insulated, non-insulated, color, electric motor, remote control?????

Installation: an experienced team can install two units per day, but it mainly depends on the on-site installation conditions. For a non-professional, including disassembling and reassembling, expect one day for the first door and somewhat faster for the second.

Have you checked on eBay? It can be cheaper. What kind of surface and groove does the gate need to have?

For example, Bauhaus also has a private label called Solid. They look visually solid.

Installation per gate will cost around 400-500 euros.

I have come across garagentorverkauf.de. They consistently have good reviews on eBay. The prices seem reasonable to me. At the moment, I would also lean towards roller doors. Are there any disadvantages compared to sectional doors?

• Speed – I believe the motor for a sectional door is somewhat faster
• Proneness to repairs – we have to replace the hangers quite often, which can be quite a hassle depending on the door size
• Appearance – a roller door looks like an oversized shutter rather than a garage door

Additionally, we experience a high failure rate with the remote controls, but that is probably due to our specific situation. We can’t trigger the door from down the street; we have to stand right in front of it to operate.

You want to compare a "window shutter" with a sectional garage door? You can’t be serious...
