Hello,
what experiences do you have with island range hoods that also serve as a "design feature"?
Unfortunately, the option of downdraft ventilation and ceiling installation with exhaust is not possible. Therefore, I am currently leaning towards a hanging "cube-shaped hood."
I have looked at manufacturer websites but would like to know about your experiences, including the quality of more affordable brands.
A brief overview of the kitchen itself:
Open kitchen, total room size: 50 m² (540 sq ft), kitchen area itself 11 m² (118 sq ft). Cooktop width 80 cm (31.5 inches) with a ceiling height of 2.70 m (8.9 ft).
I would estimate a room volume of about 45 m³ (1,590 cu ft), meaning a maximum performance of about 540 m³/h (318 cubic feet per minute).
My requirements:
Which ones would you recommend?

My requirements:
- Performance should be sufficient for the room volume and cooking area
- Built-in lighting – it doesn’t have to be LED or anything special
- Odor removal is not a priority since we have a large kitchen window and plenty of patio doors
- Not too noisy – unfortunately, I can’t specify in decibels
Which ones would you recommend?
@Soraya .. Watt is a measure of power consumption, which does not actually characterize a range hood’s performance. m³/h (cubic meters per hour), exhaust air, exhaust duct diameter, exhaust duct length, recirculation, recirculation filter, etc. — those are the values that matter.
