Hello,
I want to lay a weed fabric around my rose bushes. It’s a long hedge. However, the weeds are growing so aggressively underneath that I can’t keep them under control. I’m concerned whether enough water will still penetrate down to the roots. Has anyone had experience with this? Can I simply place it over the weeds now in winter so that they die off underneath?

Do stones have to be placed there? I was thinking of bark mulch...? That is also possible.

That is also possible. ok. 🙂We have just recently installed it. According to the "instruction leaflet," the weeds should ideally be removed completely beforehand, and the fabric should be covered with at least 5 cm (2 inches) for UV protection and to prolong its lifespan. We also have bark mulch, but whether it is consistently 5 cm (2 inches) thick...?
