Hello Forum,

Eight years ago, I built a treehouse supported on posts.

Now the tree is gone because it grew too large and didn’t look good anymore. Unfortunately, this also means the shade is gone.
I have renovated the playhouse (former treehouse), including a new roof since the trunk no longer passes through, painted the interior, and windows still need to be installed—they are missing in the photos.

The playhouse is now fully exposed to the sun, and today, even without windows and a door, it reached 33°C (91°F), while outside it was 24°C (75°F). Once the windows and doors are installed, temperatures easily reach 40°C (104°F).

My question is, what would you do to reduce the temperature inside?

Attached are some photos of the house. The door faces north.

Thank you very much for your tips.
Best regards, 20cents

Anyone have any ideas?

I am considering painting the roof white instead of brown.

What do you think?

Hello,

At the moment, I’m only here occasionally and have just now read your question.

Very nice pictures you have shared here.

The issue with sunlight is, of course, a problem.

First, the roof could be repainted in a different color. Whether that will help, I can’t say.

I rather suspect it would help little.

You could install roller shutters in front of the windows. They keep the heat out.
