We have decided to replace our heating system from the 1980s. I thought I would simply call some heating engineers for advice. But none of them want to come before an energy consultant has been involved... Okay, no problem, I thought. But now I have the following questions:
- I don’t need a full energy assessment for the house (windows, roof, facade, etc. are not being changed), only for the heating system — to check whether the new system, combined with other factors, meets the legal requirements. Is such an assessment available, and what costs can be expected?
- And most importantly: From my perspective, the main purpose of the consultation is funding support. I have a lot to learn here… What I don’t know as of today: Does the funding application always have to be submitted through an energy consultant, or can I apply myself with their assistance? I ask rather simply because I often see energy consultants stating on their websites that they are “certified” for BAFA or KfW. And how does this relate to “Deutschland macht Plus”?
Thank you very much for any advice!
Peter
