We have had our geothermal heating system running for about nine months now. We are very happy with it. However, there is one phenomenon we can’t explain. The temperature in the living areas is constantly 22°C (72°F). Actually perfect for us. It does not fluctuate at all; the thermometer seems nailed in place. We even put up a second one because we didn’t believe it at first.

But sometimes I sweat, sometimes I feel cold, and most of the time it’s just right. My husband experiences the same—when I’m cold, he feels cool as well, and so on. How is that possible? The temperature is always the same, and the humidity level hardly changes either.

Is something wrong with our sense of feeling?

If temperature and humidity are constant, then there must be another variable.

For example, your bodies.
When I exercise, I actually feel warm for most of the day afterward.
When I get tired, I feel cold.
When I’m fully fed, I also feel warm.

Have you noticed if there is any draft?
Or what the outside temperature and humidity are in each case?

Do you have a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery concerning airflow?

How does it perform in sunny and cloudy weather?

So, we have neither a ventilation system nor air currents. The outside temperature doesn’t matter either. So, it’s all just slack after all. 🙂
