Hello,

in the electrician’s quote for our new single-family house (2 floors, approximately 185 m² (1,991 sq ft)), I noticed an item called "connection for underfloor heating" costing 750€. The thermostats are listed separately in another item. This amount seems quite high to me. Does anyone know what this item typically includes?

That sounds like it’s just about the thermostat itself. Could the position actually refer to the connection and installation?

It’s best to just ask him. If he’s reliable, he will break it down for you individually and explain it in detail.

That is just the thermostat then.

From each room thermostat, a cable must be run to the respective heating circuit manifold (I assume you have two). Additionally, each heating circuit manifold requires a supply line, and last but not least, the room thermostats need to be connected to the actuators on the manifold.

This involves a considerable amount of work and adds up to quite a few meters of cabling. I can say this from experience, as I recently did this myself in my new build (172 m² (1847 sq ft)) a few weeks ago.

750 € is not a bargain, but it is certainly not too expensive.
The 59 € is—as mentioned several times—only the material cost for the room thermostat.

So the electrician explained it to me today. It is exactly as dohuli described.
