Hello to all adventurous home builders,

we have a question:

We are building a bungalow without a basement (Energy-Efficient House 55, using a timber frame construction) with perimeter insulation for the slab. For our brickwork, there is a strip footing with internal metal rods as reinforcement.

Has anyone gained experience with grounding according to the 2013 regulations? According to the new requirements, grounding should be installed once around the slab and then additionally around the strip footing. Since we are doing the slab ourselves, we are having trouble getting clear information. Also, everything must be documented precisely with photos and an official certificate. Who is authorized to do this?

Greetings from the confused…

This also requires a strip foundation for our facing bricks ...
... so you are making a separate foundation just for the cladding?
