Eumeltier27 Nov 2013 15:29Hello,
for various reasons, I would like to assemble the base cabinets first and then hang the wall cabinets afterwards.
Is it safe to stand on the base cabinets (with the countertop) without any issues? The legs are supposed to support 125 kg (275 lbs) each, but how much weight can the connection between the countertop and the side panel hold (the extension panel on the legs that goes under the wall is attached, but I’m not sure how effective it really is)?
Regards,
Martin

...If the Faktum feet are installed correctly, this is not an issue. The plate of the feet extends beyond the side wall so that the weight is not supported solely by the floor panel.
If this is still of interest:
It works perfectly without any issues. I've done this already with several Ikea kitchens that I assembled. I always start by aligning and securing the base cabinets first, and then install the wall cabinets afterward. During this process, I can easily walk back and forth on the base cabinets without any problems.
