Hello everyone

I have now received the surveyor’s plan.
1x PDF and 1x DWG file.
Everything in 2D.

Now I would like to draw the house on it so I can better see the distances and size.

Which tool would be best for this, preferably free or with a trial version?

Regards
Andreas

This may sound ironic, but I mean it seriously.

Classic analog tools: pencil, set square (triangle ruler), compass?

Take the PDF, convert it into an image, and continue working on it in a vector graphics program scaled to 1:100.

Cut out the template of the house and garage, and have fun aligning them.

I imported this into SketchUp and fully modeled the house there, including the floor plans. It works well for visual perspectives, but it was also a great help with the electrical planning. I still update the plans today and always have all the cable routes on the property, irrigation, etc., accurately to scale at hand.

Graph paper and a pencil are your friends. And some trial and error 🙂
