Hello,
we have underfloor heating throughout the entire apartment. Because of children, we need door stoppers for almost every interior door. The adhesive door stoppers did not work. We would prefer to drill some into the floor. How do you go about this and avoid damaging any pipes or cables in the floor?

A radiant floor heating system requires, according to DIN 18560, a covering of the pipes with screed at a minimum thickness of 35–45 mm (1.4–1.8 inches) for construction type "A" (pipes installed over thermal or impact sound insulation), depending on the type of screed used (calcium sulfate screed, flowing screed, or cement screed). Within this layer, you can safely insert a screw anchor or reduce the drilling depth by about 5 mm (0.2 inches) as a safety margin. The screed composition can be found in the construction description provided by your general contractor or in the specification for screed work from your architect, which you should be familiar with.
