It works great and costs me 100 euros per year, That’s great. Even better would be if you could provide more information about your system and so on?

albert.hagenlocher7 Sep 2015 10:21It is a salt-based water softener from Juno, but there are also cheaper options, which is why I didn’t want to mention a specific brand. I believe the cheaper ones work just as well. They are just a bit more complicated to operate or maintain.

Take a look at other profiles and you will notice that even “older” users have completed the missing information; quite a few without any reminders! Besides, there is a lot of flexibility, both regarding occupation and place of residence. The only requirement is that both must be truthful. Whether you list ‘merchant’ or ‘clerk,’ ‘Heringen’ or ‘Nordhausen,’ is up to you, especially if you believe that providing exact details might be disadvantageous (though I consider only some professions to be sensitive in terms of self-promotion, and I address that accordingly).
We did not introduce these changes to the profile information to annoy members; what would be the point of that? And if concerns about data privacy come to your mind now: then you should not disclose your IP to anyone.
However, it greatly helps the users who provide answers; a thread starter can also better assess the value of a response when the respondent’s occupation is clear. This is especially relevant for questions related to finance or legal matters. Answers on plumbing or sanitation also gain more substance when the respondent works professionally in that field.
And last but not least — I believe I can also speak here for Yvonne (ypg): we have other hobbies besides discussing forum rules with the same type of users over and over again. You are free to accept these rules or not; but then you must accept the consequences.
Best regards,
Bauexperte
