Hello to all window builders, I want to upgrade my PVC windows from double glazing to triple glazing. For this, I need to replace the glazing beads (square white) from 24 mm (1 inch) to 44 mm (1.7 inches) glazing thickness. I have already ordered the triple glazing. My problem is that I can find the right glazing beads online, but I cannot buy them. On every site where I have found them, you can only select glazing beads through a window configurator, but not purchase them individually. Can someone help me with my problem? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure this will work?
Are the windows, fittings, etc. designed to handle at least 50% more weight?
And why do you want to replace them at all? How old are the current windows, and what condition is the building envelope in?
How many seals do the windows have? What kind of profiles are they?

I know these are more questions than answers, but they might be helpful in the end.

I want to upgrade my plastic windows from double glazing to triple glazing.

Consider the window as a complete building element, including weight, installation, burglary resistance class, U-value, and so on.
Replacing individual components won’t help much.
It’s like putting a 200 hp diesel engine into a Trabant:
The springs bottom out, the frame warps, and the brakes and wheels are totally overloaded.
Cancel the glass order and rethink getting completely new windows that are energetically compatible with your house; otherwise, you’ll end up with other problems.
Get professional advice.

What exactly do you expect to achieve with that, and do the profile specifications even allow for it?

Then I have to quote Adenauer (who, unlike me, was not a window manufacturer or dealer): "You seem to know more than I do" ;-)

For example, see "How many chambers does a window need?" and "The U-value, the misunderstood factor" (these articles are currently awaiting continuation and unfortunately have to be searched for here).

Contrary to the opinions expressed here, replacing the glass can indeed lead to a significant improvement at considerably lower costs. The important aspects regarding fittings, etc., have already been mentioned.

I would recommend checking with local carpenters and window manufacturers.

Why does everyone always say that it depends on the fittings? Of course, they can handle it. The fittings for windows and patio doors are the same, so why would the larger patio door break out?
