Hello,
I hope you can share some tips with me.
In the basement utility room, I have a PVC pipe embedded in the wall that leads outside and then towards the cistern (distance about 10 m (33 feet)).
My question is, how should I pass a hose (for a domestic water system) through it? And from which side? From inside to outside or the other way around?
The cistern has been full of water to the edge for 6 years—do I absolutely need to pump it out beforehand?
Regards,
Boris

I use cistern water for the washing machine (theoretically, since I don’t have a washing machine), the toilet, and garden irrigation. But there should definitely be a coarse filter in the cistern and another one at the domestic water system. A connection to the municipal water supply MUST be avoided. This is usually done professionally by plumbing companies. 😉 You don’t have a washing machine?! 😳
Or is there something else abbreviated that way?

Or is there something else abbreviated like that?Correct, I outsource the laundry :p (is that decadent?)W

I’m 55, single, and not a fashion enthusiast. In summer, I wear linen shirts that I quite often wear again unpressed after a quick hand wash. I hardly ever wear socks in summer (unless the occasion demands it), and I have at least six weeks’ supply of other underwear. So I only wash my rarely used clothes every 2 to 4 weeks. There are simply far more enjoyable ways for me to spend my time than washing and ironing.
I also know someone who sends everything to the dry cleaner. Why not.
The most extreme case I know is someone who buys new socks. The very cheap kind. It’s cheaper than washing them. He actually did the math… and unfortunately, it’s true.
We don’t need to discuss that this is a waste of resources and so on. But choose green.
