The building expert and hgerike summarized it well: clay tiles are smoother, including types like Protegon or Longlife, so they tend to stay cleaner longer and are less likely to develop moss. For me, especially with an additional matte glaze, clay tiles would be the preferred choice. Soundproofing and insulation were less of a concern for us. However, the price difference between clay and the matte-finish Protegon was almost 4000 EUR (approximately 4300 USD). We decided to invest that money elsewhere instead. In the end, it always comes down to priorities and what each general contractor includes as standard or charges as additional costs.

What are your current experiences after about 2 years? Has anyone chosen the Braas Harzer Pfanne 7Big roofing tile?

Braas Harzer roofing tiles have been on our roof since May 2017. They are still completely clean.
