Hello everyone,

I’m having trouble making progress with this topic. Apparently, there is only one provider in Germany (EnLiCos), and they charge over 10,000 euros. Every house is, of course, unique.
What I have found out so far is that the actuator which moves the mirror to follow the sun’s path originates from satellite technology...

Maybe someone here is familiar with this subject and can offer some advice. I would appreciate it.

Thank you very much, Alex

As I interpret it, he wants sunlight on the terrace circled in blue.

There are enough windows. It is also reasonably bright. However, there is a lack of direct sunlight. Depending on the time of year, the sun is gone by 2:00 PM (2 p.m.) and only returns behind the large house to the west again in August/September...

Then you’re like millions of other people. Sorry, I can’t contribute anything else on this topic, as in 30 years of real estate experience, I have neither seen such a system installed in any construction project (so far, everyone has managed well with their situation and, if anything, is glad not to have too much sun INSIDE the house – the main thing is reasonable brightness), nor have I ever known anyone who even remotely considered it. Even with a north-facing orientation, I would never consider such an expensive, exotic solution.

Thank you, Nordanney. Please refrain from posting further comments. There are too many critics here, and you are one of them. No offense intended. But please, just don’t post anything more. It doesn’t help.

I am in contact with EnLiCos. Current idea:
A mast that can be folded down for heliostat maintenance.

As I understand it, two stepper motors are needed, ideally remotely controllable via wireless.

Best regards, A

I can fully understand the desire and also find it interesting to see such solutions. As mentioned, I am more familiar with this from the Alpine region and partly from the Black Forest.
I would do this as well if it were necessary. This way, the outdoor area is also more usable.
Please keep us updated.
Would such a tall mast cause any issues with the building permit / planning permission?
I believe the tracking system at EnLiCos is fully automatic. So you just set the point to be illuminated once, and the tracking system does the rest.

That would of course be the best solution with automatic tracking...
Regarding the permit... definitely not that simple... especially here in Baden-Württemberg... It would certainly have to be classified as a flying component...
