Good day,
I have some questions regarding a full renovation or raising the roof with new construction.
I live on the second floor, with a living area of 140m² (1507 square feet).
Since I want to renovate the apartment, the following questions come up.
I am considering 1. a full renovation, or 2. raising the roof (the roof was replaced 2 years ago) and demolishing the existing floor to rebuild it (if possible).
For option 1: All windows, all doors including the front door, completely with underfloor heating, all floors renewed, all water pipes and electrical wiring replaced.
In addition, the entire building would need insulation, but I would like to do this in a second step.
What would the approximate cost for option 1 be, with medium-level finishes, excluding the kitchen, bathroom, and external insulation?
For option 2: I heard it is possible to raise the roof structure and build underneath, as is usually done when adding a new storey.
Would it also be possible to raise the roof structure, demolish the floor and masonry below, and install a prefabricated house with about 110m² (1184 square feet) and a 30m² (323 square feet) terrace, then put the roof back on?
What would option 2 cost as a turnkey project with medium-level finishes?
Thank you for reading.
I would appreciate your responses 🙂
