Hello everyone!
As you know, I am currently in the design planning phase for our single-family home – luckily, we are finally almost ready to submit the application.
I would like to calculate the construction costs myself, since the architect hasn’t really done that, so I have no idea where we currently stand cost-wise. I would like something more precise than just square meters times price per square meter...
Can you recommend any tools, software, spreadsheets, etc.?
It can’t be that complicated.
I have read up on cost groups, the construction cost index, etc., but what is the best approach to take?
Thanks
GD

GD Actually, it is, because the conditions in house building can’t be more individual. Also, while the theory is nice, it’s useless as an output for what you’re looking for. It’s like trying to base your land purchase on the official land value—this is not the market price you actually pay. Theory and practice, that’s the difference. To estimate your individual costs, you need quotes. Without quotes, especially at this stage, a realistic estimate is impossible. I would even go further and say that currently, even the architect can’t realistically provide you with information based on experience. So, get quotes first.
