ᐅ Can the air-to-water heat pump also be used for cooling in the summer?

...according to some reports, this can work (depending on the construction type).
I imagine it like this: In winter, water circulates through the underfloor heating loops at a temperature a few degrees warmer than my desired room temperature, and in summer, when it’s around 35°C (95°F) outside, the heat pump delivers water at 18°C (64°F) or even cooler. Since the sun is shining, the heat pump runs on its own electricity, and I have a comfortable 23°C (73°F) inside the house.
Of course, the cold air doesn’t rise, so you might only have cold feet, and if it’s set too cool, maybe some damp spots.
Maybe this isn’t needed at all if the building is well insulated and the indoor temperature stays about 10 degrees lower than outside.
Still, I would be interested in your opinions on this topic.

Well, whether it’s a small or large system, the pressure in the pipe remains the same...
The concerns come later when you need several adapters, couplings, or reducers.
It already starts with whether the pipe connections on the system are metric or imperial. But anyway, we are already too far off the main topic.

Exactly, that’s why I want to come back to the cooling function of a heat pump. It actually does work, yes. However, it is only really effective where the sun shines directly on the ground and heats it up accordingly. Lowering the blinds has the same effect but with the added advantage that it doesn’t use any electricity (well, an electric roller blind does :p) and it is significantly more effective.
I have to admit, I tried this last summer—not without some skepticism—and I actually felt that the floor became noticeably and pleasantly cooler. My wife had the same impression. So we will probably use the cooling function again next summer, even if theoretically it might not make much difference... Placebo?
