Hello everyone,

I am undecided between the Gardena models R40, R70, and Smart Sileno.

I have about 100m² (1,076 sq ft) of lawn area. I would also like to monitor/control the system using Loxone. What are your experiences? What advantages does the Smart Sileno offer?

Unless a zero was accidentally left out, I wonder how much weight someone might gain just from watching when there's so little work to do.

However, the Worx tends to have rather average ratings in the Amazon reviews?

A friend of mine also has this product, actually two of them. One of them has already been repaired three times. The cut quality is also poor. I cannot recommend it.

Lawn mowers are usually categorized by their capacity in square meters. At first, I didn’t realize that this always assumes continuous operation around the clock and relatively simple terrain. For example, if you have 500 m² (5400 sq ft) of lawn and want the mower to run only at night, you need a mower rated for 1000 m² (11,000 sq ft). Also, particularly irregularly shaped areas require an additional capacity allowance.

That’s nonsense! We own the Sileno City 500 and have a lawn area of 400 m² (4300 sq ft). It only mows every other day from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (so effectively only 2 hours). We have 14 trees and shrubs acting as obstacles in the area, and it handles this effortlessly. These double capacity recommendations are just marketing tactics by manufacturers to make you spend more money.

But it is true that if a larger mower (in terms of the property’s square meters) is chosen, the battery lasts longer because there are fewer charging cycles.

So, unattended? How is small animal protection supposed to be ensured in that case?
