ᐅ Building Plot in the Hamburg Metropolitan Area

Hello everyone,

My partner and I have been searching for a plot of land for quite a while now. We live in Hamburg and, like many others at the moment, would like to build in the suburbs.

I recently spoke with a municipality in South Holstein, where there are over 1,000 applications for 25 plots. It really makes you wonder if it’s even worth applying there.

The situation is no better further north either. What has been your experience?

So far, I am on a waiting list. There are 15 plots available in the town, and I am number 26 on the list.

With the current price increases and disruptions in construction, along with the initial interest rate hikes, the topic of new builds is likely out of reach for more and more people. What are the current price per square meter in your local communities?

I think you have a good chance. Some will drop out. Be glad that they are not sold by auction.

I also think that only 11 items beyond the cutoff is quite good. In our building area, out of 19 plots, a total of nine parties have dropped out, and that was just last year.

If there are a thousand applicants for twenty-five plots, I estimate that around four hundred people didn’t even ask themselves your question and simply applied here as well. Many will have multiple options on the table.
