Hello,

I would like to ask the community who has been involved in helping with their own house construction and what kind of tasks you carried out.

Best regards,

So, personally, I did the wallpapering myself at first, laid the tiles, and installed part of the electrical wiring. I also laid the carpets myself. One room has parquet flooring. After two years, I also insulated the basement separately together with a friend.

Doing it yourself is somehow really great. You can, of course, make mistakes, but that’s also how you learn. So, build, build, and build yourself.

It depends on your own skills. In our case, I was lucky that one of my brothers trained as an electrician and the other as a heating and plumbing specialist. Additionally, my grandfather, who was a master painter, was a great help. With that kind of support, you can do quite a lot.

However, if you are completely inexperienced, it will be difficult to do more than painting walls and possibly wallpapering.

I'm not so sure about that.
I wouldn't do it myself unless you happen to know professionals. Without experts, I wouldn't risk my fundamental need for a roof over my head or accept compromises there.
Of course, it's about the money, but isn't quality important too?

Of course, it depends on your manual skills. If you’re completely unskilled, it’s probably better not to try 😉 But if you consider yourself handy, there’s no reason not to take on some assistance work yourself.
