Hello everyone,

In my friend’s hometown, there is only one available building plot left.
Its orientation is actually quite good.
It’s a corner lot.
Streets on the south and west sides.
The only downside (and probably the reason why the plot is still free) is that there is a farm directly across the street, about 15m (50 feet) away.
Does anyone have experience with issues like flies or similar?

We love country living. But right now, I’m not sure if it's too rural for us...

Has anyone built in a similar situation and can share their experience?

Best regards

Well, then...
We had wind in the apartment, and now we have it here too—so that probably wasn’t the issue.

As I said, it wouldn’t really bother me as long as the space otherwise fits.

As a child, I used to complain about the smell whenever we were near a farm.

My parents always replied, "Don’t complain, this air is healthy."

Climbee, these are the differences. Maybe there are more. Only a fly would know that.

I would also build there if everything else is right.

I should add that there will be a new residential area in about 2 years. However, prices there will probably be over €100 (approximately $110) per square meter, compared to the current €50 (approximately $55) per square meter.
The location would also be great, right next to the (still) open fields.

If you can afford it financially and time-wise, I would recommend buying a plot in the new development. However, I was born in the city and have lived there almost my entire life. Regarding the neighboring farm, I would also have concerns about noise throughout the week—tractors, farming machinery, etc.
