Hello everyone,
In my friend’s hometown, there is only one available building plot left.
Its orientation is actually quite good.
It’s a corner lot.
Streets on the south and west sides.
The only downside (and probably the reason why the plot is still free) is that there is a farm directly across the street, about 15m (50 feet) away.
Does anyone have experience with issues like flies or similar?
We love country living. But right now, I’m not sure if it's too rural for us...
Has anyone built in a similar situation and can share their experience?
Best regards

I can’t say much about farms and cows. I once lived right next to a small stable (4 horses or fewer). Never again.
In the countryside, I also developed an animal hair allergy*. But maybe I’m just different.
*Fortunately, it has been very selective. Luckily, I don’t react to the pets my partner has now.

You summed it up well yourself. It seems to fit. No, the following concerns were raised:

But I really can’t estimate right now if that is too much land for us... Snowy36 schrieb:
I would be more bothered by tractors etc. than the cows and flies... Phew, here you can clearly see the different opinions: I would probably be bothered by the flies, which you can’t control when they are in large numbers.
Tractors are not on the field for 10 hours a day either. Then there are the smells... personally, I wouldn’t mind them. You have to weigh if you have a sensitive nose.
So: visit the site, smell, listen, look! Again and again!
