Hello,
I have a few essential questions that I would like to have answered 😉
Let’s assume I am planning to install a fitting from Duravit.
What exactly do I need to know to install it properly? Can I use any random mounting element, for example from Grohe, in the drywall? Does it matter which siphon or angle valve I choose?
I prefer not to rely solely on advice from the specialized store, as in my opinion, sales are often the main focus there.
Now, moving on to the washbasin.
I would like to have a vanity unit. I assume that since it will not be wall-mounted, the weight of the basin including its full content must be entirely supported by the vanity unit and its legs, and that this should not be a problem.
My installation approach would be (from a layman’s perspective):
- Attach the basin to the vanity unit and seal it with silicone
- The vanity unit (freestanding) will be fixed to the wall. Here, I am thinking about “gluing instead of drilling” so I don’t have to make extra drill holes in the tiles. The forces should primarily act in the xy-plane. I assume there will be no tensile forces, and pressure is negligible; at most, there might be shear forces.
Thank you very much for your answers!

Hello
You can use any mounting element you prefer. Install the connection dimensions according to the specifications provided by the manufacturer of the bathroom furniture and the ceramics. Choose the washbasin faucet depending on the water supply.
Why are you reluctant to ask at a specialized trade store? Because of profit motives?
There are even people who earn their income as project managers.
